The Florida Public Pool Specialist (FPPS) is a public pool service technician certification course based on Florida codes and regulations and taught by active Florida industry professionals. Developed by the FSPA and approved by Florida Department of Health meeting state requirements. The FPPS certificate program includes operation principles, basic calculations, safety, water illnesses, water chemistry, sanitation, special chemicals, special problems, water testing, circulation and filtration systems, spa pools and hot water chemistry. Great for teaching new residential techs too.

This certification is a National Plasterers Council (NPC) initiative to set forth the proper protocol for a pool's initial start-up and establish the industry's standard for the start-up and care of plastered pools. NPC Certified Technicians have verifiable industry knowledge and hands-on experience to provide a quality start-up for in-ground pools / spas using the NPC-approved methods. This all day class will conclude with a 60-minute test.

The Swimming Pool & Spa Service Certification Course is a 60 Hour course (Including WS, WC, BP, and L&R) and helps you meet the education requirements of Florida Statue 489.111 and substitutes for three years of experience. After successful completion of all course requirements (Passing Exam required) a certificate will be awarded to submit to the CILB with application for licensure. As part of qualification for licensure, the Applicant is required to meet required one (1) year/2,000 hours of experience under the guidance of a licensed contractor.

In particular, prospective home buyers typically must have a pool inspection as part of the customary pre-purchase home inspection. Class is manufacturer endorsed by Hayward. This certificate is required to apply for LP Gas Master Qualifier Certification with the FL Department of Agriculture, Consumer Services Division.

Prep course for the LP Cat. 5 License exam. This license is needed to services, install, repair and sell LP gas equipment, appliances and piping. Does not include work on RV Systems, LP gas containers or LP gas motor fuel system.
